Sanima Hydro, a leading hydropower company is seeking applications from highly motivated, result-oriented, team player and competent Nepalese citizens for the following positions.
1. Position: Resident Engineer
Openings: One (1)
Job Station: Upper Sankhuwa, Sankhuwasabha
Academic Qualification and Other Requirements:
- Master’s degree in civil engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the hydropower construction, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience in the hydropower construction, including hands-on involvement in the site-based completion of at least one hydropower project (ideally 20 MW or above), particularly with tunnel construction including civil works, electro-mechanical installations, and hydro-mechanical systems.
- Experience in conduction of the testing and commissioning of hydropower projects.
- Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or Team Leader under FIDIC contracts.
- Familiarity with the regulatory and environmental frameworks governing hydropower projects in Nepal is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Engineer’s representative on-site, ensuring the project is executed in strict accordance with the design specifications, contractual agreements, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Provide leadership to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective coordination among contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Oversee the performance of contractors to ensure full compliance with the contractual terms and conditions.
- Review, verify, and issue construction drawings, site instructions, and other project-related documentation as required.
- Coordinate with the design team and head office on the timely delivery of design documents, ensuring alignment with the project’s actual progress.
- Identify and resolve construction challenges, including resource allocation and unforeseen site conditions, utilizing problem-solving skills.
- Review, analyze and advise for pragmatic construction program to expedite construction progress
- Analyze critical paths activities and suggest for deployment of necessary measures to overcome the associated challenges to the Contractor
- Demonstrate conflict resolution and negotiation skills while interacting with contractors, subcontractors, and local authorities.
- Ensure the health, safety, and security of all personnel, structures, and equipment on-site, adhering to rigorous safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive records of daily activities, meetings, and progress reports, ensuring transparency and clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Proficiently use project management software (e.g., MS Project, PRIMAVERA), along with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other relevant tools. Knowledge of hydraulic modelling and structural analysis software will be considered an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and engage with local and international stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience in guiding multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.
- In-depth knowledge of hydropower project execution, including civil, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Thorough understanding of FIDIC contracts, safety protocols, and quality management.
- Ability to address technical challenges and provide pragmatic solutions to complex project issues.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with regulatory compliance in environmental and safety standards.

2. Position: Plant Manager

Job Station: Middle Tamor, Taplejung
Academic Qualification and Other Requirements:
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering,
- Minimum 15 years of experience in plant management, preferably in hydropower or a similar heavy industry.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience in operational planning, process optimization, and resource management.
- Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to the industry.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Lead and manage the overall operations of the plant, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and productivity.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to meet the company’s production goals.
- Monitor and improve plant performance, including maintenance of equipment, processes, and systems.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage plant budgets, resources, and personnel, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of staff.

- Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance to management
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in managing a high-capacity plant or facility.
- Familiarity with modern maintenance management systems (CMMS) and equipment maintenance best practices.
- Proficient in financial management, including budget preparation and cost control.

3. Position: Finance Officer

Academic Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in management studies specialized in Finance and Accounting
- At least 3 years of experience in Accounting and Finance
- Proficient in using Accounting Software, preferably Swastik
- Proficient in Ms. Office tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective client correspondence
- Ability to analyze financial data and interpret it effectively.
- Understanding of financial statements, general accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for all transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accounting records in the accounting software with Swastik Accounting along with managing and maintaining these systems, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Prepare, update and report the Revenue and Expenses Details in a regular basis.
- Process and oversee financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers. Monitor and reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare invoices, prepare billing statements, and follow up on outstanding payments. Coordinate with clients to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Assist in tax-related matters, including payment of taxes, filing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and issue invoices to Clients
- Check staff expense claims for compliance with rules, regulations and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Comply with the instructions given by Supervisor and or Line Manager.

4. Position: Mechanical Engineer

- Proven work experience of 2 years or more in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in Hydropower or Renewable Energy Projects
- Ability to work efficiently on Operation, Maintenance, and optimization of Hydropower Systems including Electro-Mechanical and Hydro-Mechanical equipment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical systems in hydropower projects, ensuring efficient operation and maintenance
- Design hydro-mechanical component of Hydropower for successful implementation including co-ordination with the Contract and site team
