- Nepalese citizen
- Not disqualified according to Rule 10 of Teachers Service Commission Regulations (with amendments) 2057.
- Basic Level (Primary and Lower Secondary):
- Passed secondary education (10+2) from a recognized educational institution or equivalent examination (at least 200 full marks or 8 credit hours) and received at least 10 months of training in education.
- Secondary Level:
- Passed graduation or equivalent examination (minimum 200 marks or 8 credit hours) in the relevant subject from a recognized educational institution.
- Obtained a permanent teaching license of the relevant level (if a higher level license is considered to be the minimum)
