1. Junior Technical Assistant (JTA)

Location: Based in Caritas Nepal Field office, Bagmti Rural Municipality-Ghusel (project coverage area Mahankal RM, Godawari Municipality, Konjyosom RM)

Reporting to: Emergency Response Coordinator

Duration: 1st December 2024 to 31st March 2025

Requirements and Qualifications

• Educational Background: ISC in Agriculture with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in organic farming or JT-Agriculture with over 4 years in related fields.
• Skills and Experience
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and engage with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of livelihoods, gender equality, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability and disability issues.
• Experience in facilitating training sessions, workshops, and community mobilization activities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritizes tasks, and manages time effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
• Experience in the use of computers and office software (MS Word, Excel, etc.);
• Willingness to work under difficult life conditions.
• Valid driving License, able to ride a motorcycle in rural environment

2. Sub-Engineer

Job Code: SE Location: Caritas Nepal Head Office, Lalitpur

Reporting to: Emergency Response Coordinator

Duration: 1st December 2024 to 31st March 2025

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering
• At least 2 years’ experience in construction of drinking water scheme and working in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) or Disaster Recovery Projects.
• Familiarity with Government standards and guidelines for drinking water schemes, and experience working with user groups to ensure sustainability
• Proven ability in staff management and capacity building
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Nepali
• Strong networking and coordination skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills

3. Social Mobilizer (WASH)

Job Code: SMW

Location: Based in Bagmati Rural Municipality- Ghusel (project coverage area Mahankal RM, Godawari Municipality, Konjyosom RM)

Reporting to: Emergency Response Coordinator

Parallel Reporting to: MEAL Coordinator

Duration: 1st December 2024 to 31st March 2025

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum Intermediate (+2) level education in a relevant field.
• At least a year of experience in social mobilization preferably in the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sector or similar humanitarian settings.
• Experience in small –scale project budgets and reporting
• Fluency in written and spoken Nepali, proficiency in English is an added advantage.
• Strong ability to build relationships with community members, local authorities, and stakeholders; effective in coordinating WASH activities at the community level
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups, including vulnerable populations
• Good understanding of development issues with emphasis on participation, sustainability in WASH intervention.
• Experience in working directly with communities to implement behaviour change related to hygiene and sanitation practices.

4. Emergency Response Coordinator

Job Code: ERC

Location: Caritas Nepal Head Office, Lalitpur

Reporting to: Disaster Management Department (DMD) Manager

Duration: 1st December 2024 to 31st March 2025

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Management, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in emergency response, disaster management, or humanitarian programming, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coordination role.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of emergency response principles, including needs assessments, relief distribution, and MEAL frameworks.
• Languages: Proficiency in Nepali and English
• Other Requirements: Willingness to travel to and work in remote, high-stress environments.

Skills and Competencies

• Leadership: Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team in challenging situations.
• Project Management: Strong skills in project planning, implementation, and budget management.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.

• Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to work respectfully and effectively in diverse cultural contexts.
