Good Neighbors International (GNI) Nepal has been working since 2002 for improving the lives of poor people, especially children through child protection, education, income generation, health services, water, sanitation and hygiene, disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation, and advocacy programs.
GNI Nepal is now implementing Advancing Nutritional Status of School Children in Doti Project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan working closely with Good Neighbors Japan. This project is dedicated to enhancing the nutritional health of school-aged children in Doti through sustainable, community-driven programs.
GNI Nepal now invites applications for following positions:
1. Project Coordinator – Coordination and Liaison, Project Office, Doti (one)
Job Description:
- Establish and maintain effective communication with Local Governments (LGs), District and Provincial level authorities, line agencies, civil society actors, project partners, and other stakeholders.
- Represent GNI Nepal in local and district-level meetings as required, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Raise community awareness of child nutrition and health by providing technical support for school and community-led campaigns and developing social media materials such as articles and photos
- Identify issues, risks, and gaps in collaboration with donors, partners, and local stakeholders, and recommend corrective actions to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Support the preparation of the annual project plan and budget, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timely execution
- Oversee the timely delivery of construction and software materials to project sites.
- Collect relevant resources (IEC/BCC materials, training resources, knowledge products) from various organizations and adapt their best practices for the project
- Develop and distribute IEC/BCC materials, success stories, fact sheets, posters, brochures, and multimedia tools to enhance project visibility
- Regularly update and share progress on activities and budget tracking through target vs. achievement dashboards with relevant authorities.
- Assist in preparing activity implementation guidelines, procedures, and manuals
- Supervise partner staff schedules and provide performance improvement feedback to ensure project goals are met providing them training, orientations, and counseling to enhance project efficiency.
- Develop meeting reports and minutes for key project events, including inception and closure meetings.
- Prepare and submit regular project reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually) to relevant authorities with field visits.
- Ensure transparency and impartiality during procurement by supporting and monitoring procurement activities.
- Coordinate closely with the team members to ensure timely implementation of activities and achievement of project goals ensuring proper financial management with financial tracking and compliance with donor policies, the management of official project assets, supplies, and documentation.
Job Specification:
- Master’s degree in development studies, social science, project management, or any other relevant subjects/areas with over five years of experience in Humanitarian and Development Sector.
- Proven experience in large scale budget and team management with strong coordination, networking, persuasive communication, negotiation, and team mobilization skills
- Sound knowledge of Logical Framework and excellent financial planning and budget monitoring skills
- Sufficient knowledge of MS Word/ Excell/PowerPoint
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines, and collaborating across departments.
- Hold high integrity, honesty, flexibility, and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrated networking skills, and ability to take initiative
2. Civil Engineer – Project office, Doti (one)
Job Description:
- Prepare civil designs, estimates, and specifications for required structures, ensuring alignment with best practices and national standards.
- Develop technical resources for School WASH infrastructure and other project-related constructions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and detailed surveys of target infrastructure.
- Review local government policies and integrate them into project planning.
- Monitor material quality, oversee workmanship, and verify construction activities to meet approved standards.
- Strengthen the capacity of sub-engineers and technicians through regular training and workshops on disaster resilience and sustainability.
- Collect, compile, and share regular field reports, including progress updates and completion reports.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs), tender documents, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Organize meetings with local governments, school authorities, partner NGOs, and stakeholders to provide technical input and updates.
- Maintain active communication with Construction Committees and School Management Committees (SMCs).
- Manage daily site safety and security, ensuring adherence to security protocols and child protection policies.
- Participate in safety training and promote safe practices at project sites. Comply with emergency procedures and organizational standards for safeguarding and disaster preparedness
- Mobilize team members and subordinates to facilitate effective construction interventions.
Job Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with at least 3 years of professional experience working in INGOs
- Extensive experience in planning, designing, and supervising the construction of infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, site assessments, and preparation of civil designs, estimates, and technical specifications.
- Proven ability to manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD for reporting, documentation, and technical design.
- Capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and collaborating across departments.
- Hold high integrity, honesty, flexibility, and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

3. Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, and Communication – Project Office, Doti (one)
Job Description:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive M&E plan to monitor project progress, updating it annually or as needed in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Design data collection tools and templates, establishing common indicators for consistent data gathering and reporting.
- Lead the design and procurement of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, including brochures, pamphlets, flyers, and posters, and assist in publication.
- Compile and ensure timely submission of M&E reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually), maintaining high standards of quality.
- Conduct field surveys, including knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) surveys, and compile, analyze, and draft comprehensive reports on findings.
- Provide technical support and train project staff on M&E Concepts, data collection and tools and implementing the M&E plan and logical framework.
- Track and analyze project outputs and outcomes periodically, coordinating closely with the project team. Maintaining a comprehensive project database, updating it regularly to support reports and decision-making.
- Review and compile various reports, including progress, evaluation, and M&E reports, incorporating major learnings, case studies, photographs, success stories, video documentaries, best practices, and gap analyses along with developing project communication materials and contributing to disseminating information effectively.
- Assist in identifying training needs, designing terms of reference (ToR), and developing training materials.
- Ensure the quality and proper documentation of supplied items (construction and non-construction materials) from vendors, tracking utilization at the field level.
- Support inter-departmental coordination for budget tracking and project activity monitoring, sharing insights on activity and budget utilization in meetings
Job Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in humanities and social sciences having professional experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in the development sector
- Proven track record of project planning, monitoring and experience along with data management, quality assurance and compliance
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrated networking skills, and ability to take initiative
- Good communication skills with the project team as well as various stakeholders.
- Sound computer knowledge in using MS Word, Excell and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle work under pressure with tight deadlines and coordinate with other departments.
- Excellent oral and written English & Nepali.
- Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
