The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal (GWT(N)) is seeking dedicated professionals to join our team in Nepal. We invite applications for the following positions:
Position 1: Mobile Health Practitioner (MHP)
- Location: Various Area Welfare Centres (AWCs) across Nepal, with frequent travel to other AWCs as needed.
Requirements:
- Health Assistant/Staff Nurse (PCL level) qualification.
- Registration with Nepal Health Professional Council or Nepal Nursing Council.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in GoN/Private hospitals/Health Posts/Primary Healthcare centers.
- Proficiency in basic medicine and pharmacology.
- Strong written communication skills in English and Nepali.
- Native-level proficiency in Nepali.
- Computer literacy.
- Familiarity with relevant country legislation governing medical practice.
Responsibilities:
The Mobile Health Practitioner (MHP) will manage clinic facilities in rural AWCs and provide home visits to vulnerable pensioners within the Area of Responsibility (AoR). Duties include assessments, primary care treatment, training home caregivers, and using medical equipment effectively. The MHP must work independently and as part of a team, pay attention to detail, and handle multiple tasks.
Remuneration:
The position falls under EG-03 of our pay structure, with a basic monthly salary of NPR 64,143, along with other benefits per GWT(N) Policies and Procedures. Initially offered for three years, the position may be extended based on performance and need.

Position 2: Area Welfare Centre (AWC) Doctor
- Location: Area Welfare Centre Dharan.
Requirements:
- MBBS with relevant Post Graduate qualifications (MD in GP or Internal Medicine) OR
- 10 years relevant work experience post MBBS if no postgraduate degree.
- Current unrestricted registration with Nepal Medical Council (NMC).
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Nepali.
- Computer literacy.
- High-level communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of relevant country legislation governing Medical Service Delivery.
Responsibilities:
The AWC Doctor is responsible for clinical care and governance in their medical center, ensuring compliance with GWT(N) standards. They oversee the clinical outcome of all patients and may have responsibilities for residents or rehabilitation patients in the attached residential home if posted in AWC Kaski.
Remuneration:
The position falls under DR-03 of our pay structure, offering a basic monthly salary of NPR 208,591, along with other benefits per GWT(N) Policies and Procedures. Initially offered for three years, the position may be extended based on performance and need.
