HEAD Nepal Vacancy 2080 for Project Coordinator and Admin/Finance Officer 

The Himalayan Education and Development (HEAD Nepal) is a non-profit, local non-governmental organization dedicated to the empowerment and overall development of people with disabilities in the Himalayan region of Nepal. As the leading organization in the field of disability in the Humla district, HEAD Nepal is undertaking the “Our Voice for Our Rights – Disability Rights Advocacy Project in the Himalayas” in partnership with Disability Rights Funds for a year and “Inclusive Climate Actions in the Himalayas” in partnership with Global Greengrants Fund. With this regard, HEAD Nepal is seeking innovative, self-motivated and dynamic personnel for the following position.

Position: Project Coordinator

Required No: 1
Work Location: Based in Simkot Humla and frequent travel to Mugu and Surkhet
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Lead overall project and activity implementation.
Increase active participation of discriminated and vulnerable individuals, including PWDs, in social activities in Humla, Mugu and Surkhet.
Facilitate/support and coordinate/organize training on human rights for PWDs, their families, and other marginalized communities.
Coordinate with project partners, CSOs, government representatives, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate with coalition partners and make sure that all the responsibilities of the partners are fulfilled.
Conduct advocacy and lobbying activities at local and district levels.
Prepare and disseminate accessible awareness materials.
Build rapport and coordinate among relevant stakeholders to promote PWD rights.
Ensure effective and timely implementation of planned activities.
Maintain close contact with relevant agencies and stakeholders.
Manage database system for project beneficiaries.
Collect and compile field-based data, and report to management committee and donors.
Coordinate and oversee the stakeholder mapping process
Facilitate the execution of research and studies on climate change and its impact
Ensure timely completion of the research/study phase within the allocated budget.
Organize and supervise climate change community awareness sessions
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials on climate change and disability
Support other activities assigned by the Executive Director and partner focal person.
Qualification and experience
Bachelor’s Degree with At least 5 years or master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in the relevant field, longer experience will find advantage.
Good understanding of local, national and international laws related to human rights including rights for PWDs.
Having strong knowledge about Human Rights including the rights of PWDs
Proven experience in coordination, reporting, field mobilization, delivering training, and influencing advocacy initiatives.
Good experience working with people with disabilities will find additional advantages.
Having ample experience working on Disability Rights and climate change will given extra priority.
Good skills in the use of social media and digital platform
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali language.
Excellent computer skills, especially on Microsoft Office package and Internet applications.

Position: Admin/Finance Officer 

Required No: 1
Work Locations: Based in Simkot and frequent travel to field
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Keep accurate records for daily financial transactions and ensure on relevant supporting documents.
Timely collection & payment of bills and settlement of advance, liabilities and receivables
Update internal systems with financial data
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
Prepare balance sheets
Reconcile monthly bank statements
Coordinate and Participate in internal and external audits.
Assist in budget preparation
Review financial policies and ensure on its compliances.
Coordinate with Programmed staff for review of monthly budget vs expense and other financial issues
Budget management and control
Cash Management 
Deduct and deposit tax as per government rules and regulations
Update and prepare periodic asset report.
Maintain Staff Personal File
Keep record of monthly time sheet and leave
Involve in procurement process, negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms for the organization, purchase request, ordering of necessary goods and services and assist in finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
Coordinate in staff recruitment and development.
Performing day-today administrative tasks
Support/assist project coordinators, community facilitators in finance related field works and visit in the field when necessary
Be responsible for implementation of the policies, guidelines, procedures prepared by the organization
Working closely with HEAD Nepal management, as well as program team and perform any other tasks assigned by Executive Director.
Qualification and experience
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with At least with 2 years of relevant experience, and higher academic degree will find advantage.
Candidates having finance/account background will find additional advantages.
Candidates with good experience using any of finance software will be given additional preference.
Good English and Nepali written and spoken skills will be preferred.
Having a passion to work with people with disabilities is desirable.
Having compatible computer skills will find additional advantages.
Candidates having experience on human rights including disability rights will be given extra priority.
Having a commitment and dedication to be and work in the remote community will be given extra priority.
Local candidates from the relevant districts will be given extra priority.
Other exceptional candidates with compatible skills and experience will also be considered.
The monthly remuneration and other benefits of the above positions will be negotiable based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience; however, it will not go above as provisioned in the project in the organization. The successful candidates are expected to join the project from the 1st February 2024.
