Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Chief Migration Health Officer and direct supervision of National Radiologist, the successful candidate will be responsible for the technical part of X-ray screening of the refugees in the Health Assessment Programmes.
Radiographer Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Carry out X-ray imaging of migrants as requested by the physicians or radiologist in accordance with IOM and international standards.
- Perform proper processing of digitalizing of images on DR machine.
- Ensure consistently high quality CXRs through:
a. checking and correcting technical quality of the images
b. adherence to technical requirements of resettlement countries
c. close supervision and training of MHD staff, involved in CXR taking - Optimize the workflow in the radiology unit in order to ensure quick and smooth processing and timely delivery of CXR images and reports.
- Perform clerical duties, such as preparation of daily working lists, non-US reporting forms, barcodes, checking refugees’ identity, counseling of refugees, burning CXR images on CDs, uploading digital CXR images to eHeatlh website for Australian cases, prepare statistical reports and analysis of operational activities, and ensure proper record keeping.
- Liaise with the technical service providers inside and outside of IOM regarding maintenance and repair of the equipment.
- Ensure regular and timely quality assurance of the DR and X-ray machines, and the reading of the personal radiation monitoring badge. Liaise with the respective authorities.
- Implement safety procedures in the radiology unit in accordance with the radiation protection rules and regulations. Implement infection control measures and ensure tidy and neat work environment.
- Perform regular quality control of identification procedures and correctness of data entry.
- Suggest additional measures to improve the quality, speed or safety of the radiological procedures.
- Perform such other activities as requested by the supervisors.
Radiographer Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Radiography from accredited Institution with at least three years of relevant working experience; or,
- Secondary education from above field with at least five years of relevant working experience.
Experience
- Experience working in radiography, especially CXR with knowledge on DR machine.
- Effectively applies knowledge of health issues in execution of responsibilities at appropriate level.
- Willingness and ability to perform clerical activities in the X-ray unit is a strong requirement.
Skills
- Ability to work independently using x-ray machines.
- Good computer skill is essential, especially in Microsoft Excel.
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion in appropriate areas of work.
Languages
Fluency in English and Nepali (oral and written).

2.Migration Health Physician

Context:
Under the overall supervision of Chief of Mission and direct supervision of Chief Migration Health Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for medical examinations, referrals and treatment of refugees and migrants in relation to Resettlement Migrant Health Assessment Programmes.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments of the refugees and migrants, including review of the medical history, physical examination, re-reading of the Chest X-rays (CXR) and review of the test results, in accordance with the technical guidelines of the resettlement countries.
- Ensure proper identification of the migrants during physical examination.
- Conduct UK Pre Entry TB Screening for potential entry clearance applicants as per Technical Instruction (TI) of UK Border Agency.
- Record all relevant health data in standard forms; ensure completeness and accuracy of the recorded information.
- Liaise with the radiologist and laboratory staff regarding results of the respective tests.
- Make referrals for additional testing and treatment, if necessary; follow up patients on treatment.
- Perform treatment of tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections and provide support to the HIV and TB counselling activities.
- Take part in the surveillance system through notification of the stakeholders about communicable diseases identified during health assessments.
- Ensure that all relevant data related to the heath assessment program are entered to MiMOSA and other related databases.
- Participate in data analysis related to the health assessment program for presentation and program planning.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the supervisors.
Migration Health Physician Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- Master’s degree in Medicine from accredited institution with 2 years of relevant experience or,
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine with 4 years of professional experience.
Experience
- Post graduate training and/or working experience in any of the following domains- public health, communicable diseases, tropical medicine or chest diseases – is a distinctive advantage.
- Effectively applies knowledge of health issues in execution of responsibilities at appropriate level.
- Demonstrated awareness of gender issues.
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion in appropriate areas of work.
- Knowledge of the Nepalese health system.
Skills
