Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Comprehensive Patient Care: Assume responsibility for patient care across various departments, including wards, the Out-Patient Department, and the emergency room, serving both Leprosy and General patients.
2. Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose and treat patients, with a special focus on leprosy cases. Ensure precise clinical documentation in both OPD and inpatient departments.
3. Referral Documentation: Prepare accurate referral documents for patients requiring transfer to other medical facilities.
4. Patient Admissions and Discharges: Manage patient admissions, including the completion of medical records, case sheets, and forms, as well as patient discharges, with meticulous documentation.
5. Ward Rounds and Assessments: Conduct regular ward rounds and ulcer assessments, prescribing treatments and maintaining comprehensive patient records.
6. Round-the-Clock Care: Provide care and ward rounds for all admitted patients, including Leprosy, Surgical, Medical General Patients, and Emergency patients, even on weekends, public holidays, and during night shifts.
7. Night Call Duties: Fulfill night call duties as assigned, ensuring prompt accessibility within the hospital compound for emergency cases.
8. Professional Development: Attend weekly Doctors’ Meetings/Tutorials and present materials as requested by the Medical Superintendent. Participate in satellite clinics and medical camps as needed.
9. Operating Theatre: Be available for operation theatre duties when required.
10. Teamwork and Coordination: Ensure the smooth operation of the hospital by collaborating and coordinating with all departments.
11. Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Willingness to undertake any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Person Specification:

• Educational Background: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent from a recognized university with Nepal Medical Council Registration.
• Experience: Newly graduated medical officers are encouraged to apply. Those with one or two years of hospital-based medical officer experience will be preferred.
• Team Player: A positive attitude and a commitment to working effectively within a team.
• Specialization: Sensitivity to gender-related issues and knowledge of Leprosy are valuable assets.
• Flexibility: Adaptability to varying work hours, workloads, tasks, and travel requirements.
• Continuous Learning: Ability to stay updated on the latest advancements in the medical field.
