Okhaldhunga Community Hospital New Vacancy 2023 for Consultant in General Practice (MDGP)
Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (OCH) is a rural hospital (officially 50 beds), to the east of Kathmandu, about one day’s journey by vehicle. We provide hospital services to our surrounding communities – including general medicine and surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, dentistry, obstetrics, and gynaecology. Associated programmes of the hospital include community-based rehabilitation, mental health, and the Okhaldhunga School of Health Sciences which trains staff nurses (PCL Nursing).

Main Role
- In conjunction with the Medical Coordinator and other senior doctors, day-to-day responsibility for clinical activities in the hospital, with specific oversight of the Emergency Room.
Qualification:
- Doctor of Medicine in General Practice MDGP (or equivalent) from a recognised university with Nepal Medical Council registration.
Preferred Experience:
- Newly graduated MDGP qualified doctors are welcome to apply.
- One or two years of working as an MDGP consultant post-specialist training would be an advantage.
Salary and benefits are according to OCH standards.
The medical work at OCH is broad and diverse. There are many opportunities to gain experience and skills in both medical and surgical conditions. Our maternity service delivers 100 babies per month, with the full range of normal and operative deliveries. Management of emergency and trauma patients are a regular part of the work. There is a regular teaching programme. The hospital hosts international specialists from time to time who visit to work for short periods. The MDGP consultant position is a senior doctor’s position in our medical team.
