Context:

International IDEA has been a steadfast supporter of Nepal’s democratic process since 2004, aiding the nation in its transition to peace, democracy, constitution building, and electoral processes. In recent years, our focus has shifted towards supporting the implementation of key constitutional provisions and strengthening local government systems in the newly established federal structure.

Job Description:

As a Programme Manager for International IDEA in Nepal, you will play a crucial role in managing the Provincial Engagement Facility (PEF) in Karnali and Lumbini, supporting FCDO’s engagement with provincial governments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Establishing and equipping the provincial office.
• Overseeing the provincial team.
• Planning and executing high-level visits.
• Coordinating with key stakeholders.
• Representing FCDO/BEK Nepal to provincial stakeholders.
• Providing political analysis and trend assessments.
• Ensuring quality assurance and coordination of FCDO-funded activities.

General Profile:

We are seeking candidates who:

• Hold a university degree in relevant fields.
• Have at least seven years of experience in strengthening local governance.
• Possess three years of project leadership and team management experience.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of local government systems.
• Have experience working with civil society or international organizations (an advantage).
• Are comfortable with mentoring approaches (an advantage).

Terms of Contract:

• Local Posts.
• Fixed-term appointment until July 31, 2024.
• Please note that International IDEA will not cover relocation costs.
