RUDEC Nepal is a national non-governmental organization. This organization is working towards developing reading habits and reading skills among primary school children, as well as enabling girls to achieve secondary education and make important life decisions through life skills education. This organization has invited applications from interested Nepali citizens for the following positions under the Room to Read Nepal Funded Project.
Position: Social Mobilizer, Female
Program: Girls’ Education Program
Number of Positions Required: Few
Scope of Work:
- Project Area (Bidur Municipal Corporation, Belkotgadhi Municipal Corporation, Likhu Municipal Corporation and Panchakanya Municipal Corporation in Nuwakot District)
- The Social Mobilizer (Girls’ Education Program) will establish continuous relationships with schools, parents and communities to update the progress records of participating girls,
- provide life skills education and continuously conduct life skills education,
- mentoring and parenting workshop sessions for girls to complete secondary level education and collaborate with stakeholders.
- In addition, the Social Mobilizer will be required to submit a monthly progress report to the Program Assistant of the Girls’ Education Program.
Main criteria for selection:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or social studies or equivalent
- Candidates with experience in the relevant field and work experience in the field of gender will be preferred
- At least one year of experience working at the community level and in the relevant field
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in school teaching and education
- Oral and written language skills in Nepali and local languages
- Ability to speak, write and prepare reports in English
- Good understanding of the local environment and secondary education system
- Interest and passion for working in the field of girls’ education
- Ability to blend in, work and speak easily in any community and environment
- Facilitation skills and knowledge
- Positive attitude and knowledge and skills related to community mobilization
- Able to conduct discussions and training with adolescent girls and stakeholders at different levels
- Basic computer skills (Basic MS Course)
- Preference will be given to those with a two-wheeler driving license
- Child Protection Policy and Child Protection Code of Conduct must be followed
