Helvetas Nepal is one of the decentralized country programs of Helvetas, and has been operating in Nepal under an agreement with the Government of Nepal since 1956. It implements its programs and projects throughout the country, cooperating with many technical and social organisations. Job Description:

• Title: Trainee – Social Media Management
• Location: Helvetas Nepal Country Office, Lalitpur, Nepal (with frequent field visits)
• Coach/Mentor: Knowledge Management and IT Coordinator

Key Learning Objectives:

Join us as a Social Media Management Trainee and gain hands-on experience in effective communication, technology, and teamwork within a development organization. You’ll build a professional network in the development and communications sectors.

Learning Areas:

1. Compliance: Understand and adhere to HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation’s policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
2. Digital Media Management: Assist in creating engaging content for Helvetas Nepal’s social media channels. Maintain social media profiles, monitor comments and messages, and capture field visit content.
3. Content Development: Translate and transcribe content into English and Nepali. Develop digital communication materials, including infographics and short videos.
4. Branding and Messaging: Ensure compliance with Helvetas Nepal’s communication and branding guidelines in all social media activities.

Required Education and Competencies:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (within two years of applying) in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

Competencies:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali (Nepali typing in UNICODE is a must)
• Familiarity with social media platforms and functionalities
• Basic graphic design skills and using design software
• Passion for storytelling and visually appealing content
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Photography and videography skills are an advantage
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction
