The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Engagement Assistant (Emerging Voices Exchanges and Alumni Coordinator) . This vacancy is open to Internal Applicants only.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

The incumbent coordinates the U.S. Mission’s exchange programs for youth and communities. The incumbent designs, plans and implements a broad range of activities to maintain contact with alumni of all Mission activities and initiatives. The incumbent plans, implements and coordinates exchange programs and alumni activities to engage youth and non-traditional audiences, and to expand Mission access to priority Emerging Voices (EV) Exchange and Alumni communities.
The incumbent identifies/recruits Nepali participants for U.S. exchange programs and participates in applicant review and selection. The incumbent facilitates and supports the creation of country-wide networks of alumni from all Mission activities and exchanges; plans and implements innovative activities to maintain substantive contact with those alumni. The incumbent organizes activities and forums, in-person and virtual, for alumni, and supports their future programs and funding applications. The incumbent prepares and monitors the annual and individual project budgets for EV exchange and alumni initiatives.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural, or multinational work environment is required, with project management, marketing, public relations, communication, or education duties as a significant part of the job.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Communications, Business Management or Education is required.
Evaluations: These may be tested (Language, Skills and Abilities).
LANGUAGE: Fluent speaking/reading/writing English is required. Fluent speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required. Please specify in your application your level of proficiency in ALL languages listed above.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills are required. Good technical skills on using social media, mobile platforms and digital tools are required. Good knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and graphic design is required.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
