Koshish Nepal Vacancy 2080 for Community Campaigner

Koshis Nepal is a non-governmental organization established in the year 2008. Since its inception, this organization has been contributing to the promotion of mental health and psychosocial well-being. For the protection and promotion of the human rights of people with psychosocial disabilities, the organization has been continuously advocating and lobbying with various related agencies of the country.

In this context, applications are invited from Nepali citizens who are willing and qualified, as the organization is in need of staff of the following categories for the integrated project being conducted in Birendranagar Municipality of Karnali Province.

Position: Community Campaigner

• Area of operation: Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet

Job Responsibilities Summary:

• The Government’s concerns regarding mental health and psychosocial disabilities
• Advocacy and psychosocial with local and state governments for inclusion in policies and programs
• With rights holders and stakeholders regarding the issue of human rights of persons with disabilities
• Working at the community level for discussion, advocacy and awareness.

Main responsibility

• Mobilizing and developing the capacity of peer, advocacy, and caregiver groups formed at the community level;
• Local governments and wards related to mental health and psychosocial disabilities
  Continuous advocacy, coordination and cooperation with the office,
• Regular home visits and discussions with people and families with psychosocial disabilities,
• Studying events at the community level, collecting success stories and preparing reports as needed

Minimum qualifications and skills required

• Minimum Proficiency Certificate or passed 10+2,
• Having two to three years of experience in the field of community mobilization and human rights,
• Having knowledge of report writing, lobbying, coordination and archiving.
